The little girl stared up at the pink peaches which popped out amongst the green leaves that swayed in the bitter wind. Gripping her pink sweater closer to her with one hand, the girl reached up to the nearest branch to grab a sunset-orange peach.
Her hands slipped over the fuzzy surface and she yanked back, pulling the peach off the tree. She stared at the beautifully colored fruit for a moment, thinking.
What a beautiful peach it was…it would be a beautiful creature if it was alive.
First, she looked around to check if anyone was watching. Seeing no one around, she held the peach close to her mouth, closed her eyes, and whispered, “Awake”
The peach shivered, the surface seemed to be ruffling. Then two crispy-blue eyes opened from the peach. It stared up into the girls eyes, a tiny mouth grinned and the Peach cooed. Giggling, the girl tickled where the stomach supposedly was, and walked off.
Unknown to her, a boy watched from behind the tree, and stared after the girl, eyes wide.
